Job summary

Shapoorji Pallonji Group seeks an IT Operations Specialist to provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure, asset management, endpoint administration, and service desk activities across the organization.

You will work with the AGM - IT to ensure smooth IT operations, manage biometric attendance, software licenses, security compliance, and documentation, while coordinating with vendors for warranty and renewal activities.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant IT operations experience.
• BE/B.Tech in IT/CS or BSc IT/BCA required.

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 IT support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobiles and M365 apps.
• Manage IT assets, licenses, and lifecycle across sites.
• Administer endpoints and ensure device compliance.
• Deliver user support and service desk coordination.
• Oversee biometric attendance systems and related issues.
• Support endpoint security, compliance, and policy enforcement.
• Maintain software licenses, renewals, and usage reports.
• Prepare IT dashboards, SOPs, and documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors for quotes, deliveries, and warranty resolutions.
• Assist in process improvements and SharePoint-based workflows.

Role & responsibilities

Job Purpose

To provide operational support for IT infrastructure, IT asset management, endpoint administration, user support, security compliance, software/license tracking, attendance systems, and IT documentation. The role will work closely with the AGM - IT in ensuring smooth IT operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

IT Infrastructure Project Management

• Initiation, Planning, Execution and Monitoring of IT Infrastructure projects
• Manage servers, storage (SAN/NAS), virtualization networking and cloud platforms (AWS,).

IT Asset Management

• Maintain and update IT Asset Register for laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and accessories.
• Track asset allocation, transfers, returns, warranty status, AMC details, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate asset procurement, deliveries, deployments, and disposals.
• Perform periodic asset audits and physical verification.
• Maintain software inventory and license allocation records.

Endpoint Administration

• Assist in device enrolment and management through Microsoft Intune.
• Monitor device compliance, antivirus status, encryption.
• Coordinate deployment of security policies and software packages.
• Support Windows 11 upgrade and hardware refresh initiatives.
• Maintain endpoint inventory and compliance reports.

User Support & Service Desk

• Provide L2 support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, VPN, email, and printing issues.
• Coordinate with vendors for warranty support and issue resolution.
• Ensure timely closure of incidents and service requests.

Attendance & Biometric Systems

• Manage biometric attendance devices across offices and project locations.
• Perform user enrolment, modification, and deactivation.
• Troubleshoot device connectivity and synchronization issues.
• Coordinate with HR and vendors for attendance-related support.

Endpoint Security & Compliance

• Monitor compliance with IT security policies.
• Assist in enforcing USB control, application restrictions, and endpoint security controls.
• Track exceptions and maintain security-related documentation.
• Support audit activities and compliance reviews.

Software & License Management

• Maintain records of software subscriptions and licenses.
• Track usage and allocation of engineering and productivity software.
• Assist in license renewals and compliance verification.
• Generate periodic utilization reports.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare IT operational dashboards and reports.
• Maintain SOPs, IT policies, asset documentation, and audit records.
• Update trackers for procurement, licenses, compliance, and support activities.
• Assist in preparing management reports and presentations.

Automation & Process Improvement

• Support maintenance of SharePoint-based IT Asset Management systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with hardware, software, networking, and security vendors.
• Follow up for quotations, deliveries, AMC renewals, and support cases.
• Verify delivered items against approved specifications.
• Track open issues and ensure timely resolution.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: 8-10 years

Educational Qualification

• B.E./ B.Tech (IT/Computer Science) or
• B.Sc. IT / BCA or equivalent qualification.
