Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to oversee the school's complete IT infrastructure, technology operations, systems, and technical support. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring reliable and secure IT services across the campus and supporting the effective use of technology in academic and administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage and maintain the school's IT infrastructure, including desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, Wi-Fi, printers, and other IT assets.
- Ensure smooth functioning of internet connectivity, LAN/WAN, servers, and network systems.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve technical issues.
- Plan IT infrastructure upgrades and recommend appropriate technology solutions.
Network & Security
- Manage network configuration, firewalls, access controls, and cybersecurity measures.
- Implement appropriate data security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Monitor systems for potential security threats and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain user access permissions and ensure confidentiality of institutional data.
IT Support
- Lead and supervise the IT support team and allocate technical tasks effectively.
- Provide timely technical support to teachers, administrative staff, students, and management.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity-related issues.
- Maintain proper records of IT incidents, resolutions, and maintenance activities.
School Technology & Systems
- Manage and support school ERP, LMS, attendance systems, biometric systems, and other digital platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors for software implementation, AMC, repairs, upgrades, and technical support.
- Support smart classrooms, digital boards, audio-visual systems, CCTV, access-control systems, and other technology-enabled facilities.
- Ensure technology systems are operational during examinations, events, meetings, and other important school activities.
IT Asset & Vendor Management
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT hardware, software licenses, and other technology assets.
- Monitor warranties, AMCs, licenses, and equipment lifecycle.
- Evaluate vendors and coordinate procurement of IT equipment and services.
- Ensure cost-effective utilization of IT resources.
Data Backup & Business Continuity
- Establish and monitor regular data backup procedures.
- Develop basic disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical IT systems.
- Ensure critical school data is protected and recoverable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, CompTIA, or relevant cybersecurity/cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 58 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure in a school, educational institution, corporate office, or multi-site organization is preferred.
