Kauvery Hospital is seeking an IP Billing Executive to manage end-to-end inpatient billing, ensuring accurate hospital charges, insurance/TPA documentation, and final bill generation at discharge.

The candidate should have extensive IP billing experience in a multi-specialty hospital, strong knowledge of GIPSA tariffs, and proficiency with HIS or medical billing software, with empathetic patient communication.

Qualifications

• 14 years of IP Billing / TPA Billing experience in a multi-specialty hospital.
• Graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Healthcare Administration.
• Hands-on experience with HIS or medical billing software and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Generate, verify and finalize inpatient bills by auditing charts, pharmacy orders, doctor fees and surgical charges.
• Coordinate with Insurance/TPA to check pre-authorization amounts, required documents and denials resolution.
• Counsel patients on billing breakdowns and collect payments at discharge.

Job description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced IP Billing Executive to manage the end-to-end billing process for admitted patients. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in hospital charges, handling insurance/TPA claims, and generating final bills upon patient discharge.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of medical tariffs, packages, insurance documentation, and hospital management systems, ensuring a smooth and empathetic billing experience for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Discharge Management

• Generate accurate bills: Prepare, verify, and finalize interim and final in-patient bills by auditing nursing charts, pharmacy orders, doctor visit fees, and surgical charges.
• Track daily utilization: Monitor daily room rent, investigative charges, and package limits against the patient's advance deposit or approved insurance limit.
• Coordinate discharges: Streamline the final discharge billing process to minimize waiting times for patients while ensuring zero revenue leakage for the hospital.

Insurance & TPA Coordination

• Process pre-authorizations: Coordinate with the TPA/Insurance desk to check approval amounts, send required medical documentation, and request enhancement approvals during extensions of stay.
• Resolve query denials: Review and resolve billing queries or deductions raised by insurance companies or corporate panels before final discharge.

Patient Support & Cashiering

• Counsel patients: Explain complex billing breakdowns, package inclusions, and outstanding balances to patients and their families clearly and empathetically.
• Collect payments: Collect cash, card, or digital payments for non-payable insurance items or self-paying patients, and issue official receipts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 14 years of experience explicitly in IP Billing / TPA Billing within a multi-specialty hospital.
• Education: Graduate degree in Commerce (B.Com), Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or specialized medical billing software.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, GIPSA/Non-GIPSA tariffs, surgical packages, and insurance deductions.
• Soft Skills: Excellent numerical accuracy, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to remain calm and polite under pressure.
