Job description

BBR is looking for a dedicated and resilient IoT Field Engineer to drive the on-site execution of our farm automation technologies. You will be directly responsible for bringing our systems online by deploying, commissioning, and debugging advanced IoT controllers, sensor networks, and custom hardware. This is a hands‑on field role that requires deep technical problem-solvingdown to the bare circuit board—alongside the physical stamina to operate in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deployment & Commissioning: Execute the on-site installation, wiring, and commissioning of IoT hardware, controllers, and sensor units across remote farm sites in Lakheri, Mandana, Mangal, and K Patan.
  • PCB & Hardware Debugging: Diagnose and troubleshoot printed circuit boards (PCBs) down to the component level on-site. Identify short circuits, burnt components, or logic issues, and perform emergency field repairs (like micro‑soldering or component replacement) to minimize farm downtime.
  • System Troubleshooting: Resolve sensor calibration errors, electrical anomalies, and interface issues directly in the field.
  • Networking: Set up and configure basic networking (routers, gateways, local IP networks) to ensure seamless data flow between edge controllers and central systems.
  • Harsh Environment Operations & Travel: Endure long hours of travel to remote village areas and perform physically demanding technical work in extreme high-temperature and high-humidity farm environments.
  • Reporting & Feedback: Maintain accurate deployment records, document PCB failure modes, and collaborate with the central engineering team to improve hardware resilience.
Ideal Candidate Profile (Requirements):
  • Proven hands‑on experience in PCB debugging, component‑level troubleshooting, and the use of diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Practical knowledge of electrical wiring, basic network configuration, and reading hardware schematics.
  • Extremely high physical endurance, with a strong willingness to undertake long hours of travel to remote villages.
  • Ability to work effectively in extreme high-temperature outdoor farm conditions.
  • Ability to work independently at isolated farm sites, resolving both macro‑level network bottlenecks and micro‑level hardware faults on the fly.
