Job summary

Capgemini in India, Chennai, is seeking an experienced US payroll leader to drive end-to-end payroll operations for employees and contingent workers. You will ensure accurate, on-time payments, governance, and regulatory compliance while guiding a team across payroll service delivery.

The role requires strong stakeholder management, process improvements, and collaboration with HR, Finance, and clients to optimize payroll processes and delivery metrics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of US payroll experience.
• Mandatory experience in Staffing Industry, Workforce Solutions, or Interim Workforce Management.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and governance.
• Prior leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll operations and service delivery.
• Ensure employees and contingent workers are paid accurately and on time.
• Manage payroll readiness reviews and payroll execution controls.
• Oversee payroll providers, banking interfaces, and payroll processing activities.
• Review payroll calculations, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with US payroll laws and regulations.
• Manage payroll discrepancies, exceptions, and payment failure resolution.
• Monitor payroll KPIs, SLAs, productivity, and service-delivery metrics.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization efforts.
• Mentor and support payroll team members.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 7 -10 years of US payroll experience.
• Mandatory experience in Staffing Industry, Workforce Solutions, or Interim Workforce Management.
• Strong understanding of payroll compliance and governance.
• Prior leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience preferred.
