Job summary

Distacart is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Executive to manage product inventory, availability, sourcing, and ETA information. You will coordinate with vendors, category managers, and Operations to maintain accuracy across channels.

The role involves monitoring stock levels, updating system data, and ensuring timely replenishment and product availability. Strong Excel skills and data accuracy are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and update inventory details for products based on source and availability.
• Maintain accurate product availability, inventory quantity, source, and ETA information in the system.
• Regularly review inventory data and ensure information is updated accurately and on time.
• Monitor product availability across different sources and locations.
• Maintain regular communication with vendors to obtain updated inventory and availability information.
• Follow up with vendors regarding stock availability, replenishment, and expected delivery timelines.
• Update accurate inventory and ETA information on the website based on vendor confirmations.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies between vendor information and system inventory.
• Regularly monitor physical stock levels and compare them with system inventory.
• Coordinate replenishment activities to maintain sufficient stock levels.
• Identify low-stock and fast-moving products based on order trends.
• Coordinate with the Sourcing Team to identify alternate vendors or sources for unavailable products.
• Track alternate source availability and update the system accordingly.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive Inventory Executive to manage product inventory, availability, sourcing, and ETA information. This role involves coordinating with vendors, category managers, and Operations teams to ensure accurate, timely inventory updates and maintain product availability across channels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inventory & ETA Management

• Monitor and update inventory details for new and existing products based on product source and availability.
• Maintain accurate product availability, inventory quantity, source, and ETA information in the system.
• Regularly review inventory data and ensure all information is updated accurately and on time.
• Monitor product availability across different sources and locations.

2. Vendor Coordination

• Maintain regular communication with vendors to obtain updated inventory and availability information.
• Follow up with vendors regarding stock availability, replenishment, and expected delivery timelines.
• Update accurate inventory and ETA information on the website based on vendor confirmations.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies between vendor information and system inventory.

3. Product Availability Management

• Regularly monitor product availability and identify products that are unavailable or out of stock.
• Deactivate unavailable products from the website/system as required to avoid incorrect product availability.
• Reactivate products once availability is confirmed and stock is replenished.
• Ensure product availability information is accurate and up to date.

4. Physical Stock Monitoring & Replenishment

• Regularly monitor physical stock levels and compare them with system inventory.
• Identify low-stock and fast-moving products based on order trends.
• Coordinate replenishment activities to maintain sufficient stock levels.
• Monitor order trends and proactively highlight potential stock-out situations.

5. Sourcing & Alternate Source Management

• Identify brands/products facing availability or sourcing challenges.
• Highlight and communicate availability issues to the Sourcing Team.
• Coordinate with the Sourcing Team to identify alternate vendors or sources for unavailable products.
• Track alternate source availability and update the system accordingly.
• Proactively identify recurring sourcing issues and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders.
