Job summary

Lake Land Builders Developers is seeking an experienced Finishing Engineer / Interior Site Engineer to oversee interior finishing and fit-out execution for a hotel project in Bhopal. The role requires substantial hands-on experience in interior finishing and coordination with MEP teams.

The successful candidate will supervise flooring, wall finishes, carpentry, glazing and other finishes, and ensure adherence to drawings, specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands-on interior finishing / interior fit-out execution experience.
• Strong knowledge of flooring, tiling/stone, painting, wall finishes, carpentry/joinery, ceilings/partitions, doors/windows/glazing.
• Good understanding of MEP coordination with interior finishes.
• Ability to read architectural/interior drawings, shop drawings, specs and BOQs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise interior finishing and fit-out works at the hotel project site.
• Coordinate execution of flooring, tiling, marble/granite, wall finishes, painting and related finishes.
• Supervise carpentry, joinery, doors, windows and woodwork on site.
• Oversee false ceilings, gypsum work, partitions, wall panelling and decorative finishes.
• Coordinate glazing, aluminium windows and glass partitions with finishing works.
• Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other MEP teams for service checks.
• Interpret architectural/interior drawings and BOQs before execution.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and resolve with architects/consultants.
• Ensure adherence to approved drawings, materials and workmanship standards.
• Conduct regular quality inspections for alignment, level, joints and surface finish.
• Monitor progress, manage contractors and material take-offs.
• Review BOQs and material requirements; support planning and wastage control.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Finishing Engineer / Interior Site Engineer to oversee and coordinate interior finishing and fit-out execution for our hotel project in Bhopal.

Mandatory Requirement:

• Candidates must have substantial hands-on experience in interior finishing / interior fit-out site execution.

• Experience on hotel, hospital, or premium commercial interior projects will be strongly preferred.

• This is an interior finishing/fit-out execution role. Candidates whose experience is primarily RCC, shuttering, formwork or structural civil works and who do not have meaningful interior‑fit‑out execution experience will not be shortlisted.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor day-to-day interior finishing and fit-out works at the hotel project site.

• Independently coordinate execution of flooring, vitrified/ceramic tiles, marble/granite/stone works, wall finishes, painting, polishing, and related civil finishes.

• Supervise carpentry, joinery, doors, frames, architectural hardware, furniture-related site coordination and other woodwork.

• Monitor false ceiling, gypsum work, partitions, wall panelling and decorative finishes.

• Supervise/coordinate glazing, aluminium windows, glass partitions, doors and associated finishing works wherever applicable.

• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire‑fighting and other MEP teams to ensure all service requirements are completed and checked before ceilings, wall panels, joinery or other finishes are closed.

• Study and interpret architectural, interior, GFC, coordination drawings, specifications and BOQs before execution.

• Identify drawing discrepancies, missing details or site conflicts and coordinate with architects, interior designers, consultants and project management for timely resolution.

• Ensure execution follows approved drawings, materials, mock‑ups, samples, specifications and required workmanship standards.

• Conduct regular quality inspections for alignment, level, plumb, joints, slopes, surface finish, shade/colour consistency, hardware installation, workmanship and other trade‑specific quality parameters.

• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and site manpower and monitor productivity and completion against agreed targets.

• Prepare/verify site measurements, quantities, contractor measurement sheets and relevant billing inputs.

• Review BOQs, material requirements and quantity take‑offs and support material planning, consumption monitoring, reconciliation and wastage control.

• Ensure timely availability and correct storage/handling of finishing materials.

• Monitor daily progress against the project programme and highlight delays, constraints and corrective actions.

• Coordinate with management, architects, consultants and other stakeholders during inspections and progress reviews.

Required Experience and Skills:

• 4-8 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated hands-on exposure to interior finishing / interior fit-out execution.

• Strong practical knowledge of multiple finishing trades including flooring, tiling/stone, painting, wall finishes, carpentry/joinery, ceilings/partitions, doors/windows/glazing and fixtures.

• Good understanding of MEP coordination as it interfaces with interior finishes.

• Ability to read and understand architectural/interior drawings, shop drawings, specifications and BOQs.

• Working knowledge of site measurements, quantity checking, contractor billing and material reconciliation.

• Ability to independently supervise contractors, subcontractors, vendors and site manpower.

• Good planning, coordination, problem-solving and reporting ability.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD/drawing review and MS Excel/project reporting will be useful.

Preferred Project Background:

Candidates with previous experience in hotel interiors, hospital finishing projects, luxury interiors or premium commercial fit-out projects will be given preference.

Location / Relocation:

This is a site-based role in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Compensation:

no min to max salary; salary will be based on qualifications, experience and eligibility

Compensation will be finalised considering relevant interior-finishing experience, project exposure, ability to independently manage finishing trades, hotel/hospital experience and overall suitability for the position.
