Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer/Technician with hands-on experience in instrumentation, calibration and data acquisition across industrial equipment. The role requires installing sensors and data loggers, calibrating instruments such as load cells, pressure sensors and thermocouples, and coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-site testing across India.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical or E&C required.
• Hands-on instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of data loggers, sensors and CAN protocols beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as load cells, pressure and temperature sensors.
• Operate data acquisition systems (Somat, Dewesoft, imc).
• Handle instruments including load cells, strain gauges, telemetry systems.
• Perform instrument installation on components and machinery and conduct data acquisition per test conditions.
• Maintain inventory of instrumentation and related equipment and perform preventive maintenance.

Job description

Position: Instrumentation Engineer / Technician

Experience: 5-6 Years (Diploma)

Qualification: Diploma in (Instrumentation / Electrical / E&C)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer with hands-on experience in instrumentation, instrument calibration and troubleshooting. The candidate should have strong knowledge of data loggers, load cells, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, and strain gauges. Basic knowledge of CAN communication protocols and physical parameters such as force, torque, acceleration, resistance, and RPM is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation such as load cells and pressure, temperature, and flow sensors.
• Operate and support data acquisition systems including Somat, Dewe soft, and imc devices.
• Handle instruments such as load cells, strain gauges, slip rings, and telemetry systems.
• Perform instrument installation on components or tractors and carry out data acquisition as per predefined test conditions.
• Monitor, maintain, and manage inventory of instrumentation and related equipment.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of instruments.
• Travel to test sites across India for on-site instrumentation and data acquisition activities.

Documentation

• Preparation of technical documents: wiring diagrams, SOPs using excel/word/power point.

Project Execution

• Carry out instrumentation of tractors by installing required sensors and instruments as per predefined measurement channels.
• Execute tests and perform data acquisition in accordance with defined test procedures and processes.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and cross functional teams to support instrument installation and calibration activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of data acquisition systems such as Somat, Dewesoft, and imc devices.
• Hands-on experience handling instruments including load cells, strain gauges, slip rings, and telemetry systems.
• Good understanding of electrical fundamentals such as voltage, current, resistance, and data acquisition frequency.
• Knowledge of key physical parameters including force, torque, acceleration, resistance, and RPM.
• Basic understanding of communication protocols such as CAN and analog signals (4–20 mA).
• Ability to read and interpret wiring harness schematics for instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of basic automotive electrical systems, including wiring harnesses, switches, and relays.
• Hands-on experience with calibration tools and related software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
