Job summary

PeopleStrong invites applications for an instrumentation engineer role in Mumbai. The successful candidate will work under the lead engineer with minimal supervision, contributing to instrument indexing from P&ID, instrument data sheets, and control-system design across RTU, DCS, PLC, F&G and SCADA.

The role requires hands-on proficiency in wiring diagrams, block diagrams, cable schedules, MTO estimation, and 3D modelling to guide designers while ensuring adherence to international standards.

Qualifications

• Role involves preparing instrument indices from P&ID using SPI.
• Develop instrument data sheets including sizing calculations.
• Design/control engineering for RTU, DCS, PLC, F&G and SCADA systems.
• Prepare wiring diagrams and loop drawings; hook-up diagrams.
• Create block diagrams and cable schedules; develop level sketches.
• Estimate MTOs and guide designers with 3D modelling.
• Check instrument location plans, fire & gas layouts, cable trays.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and review inter-discipline docs.
• Proficient use of SPI and Instrucal; knowledge of standards.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The candidate shall be able to work with minimal supervision and report to the lead engineer.

The activities will include but not be limited to:

• Preparation of Instrument Index from P&ID's using SPI Instrument Index Module
• Preparation of Data Sheet for various Instruments including sizing calculations
• Design and detailed engineering for Control systems: RTU, DCS, PLC, F&G and SCADA Systems
• Preparation of Wiring Diagram & loop Drawing,
• Preparation of Hook-up (Installation Detail) Diagram
• Preparation of Block Diagram, Cable Schedule, etc.
• Development of Level Sketches
• Estimation of MTOs
• Conversant in 3D Modelling to guide designers
• Checking of Instrument Location Plan Drawing, Fire & Gas Detection layout, Cable Tray Layout etc.
• Co-ordination with other disciplines for proper flow of information
• Involve in the checking of inter discipline documents
• Proficiency in using instrumentation software like SPI, Instrucal, etc. for design
• Knowledge of international standards

• B.E. / B.Tech (Instrumentation)
