About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer who can take ownership of the complete e-learning development lifecycle, from researching and writing technical content from scratch to designing and developing engaging, interactive courses using Articulate.
The ideal candidate should be able to understand complex technical concepts and software applications, translate them into clear and learner-friendly content, and independently build structured, interactive learning experiences. This role requires strong content-writing skills alongside hands-on expertise in instructional design and course authoring.
Important: This is an end-to-end role. Candidates must be capable of both creating instructional content and developing the final e-learning course, rather than working exclusively on either content development or course authoring.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Content Writing: Research, write, edit, and structure technical and software-based learning content from scratch, translating complex concepts, workflows, and functionalities into clear, simple, learner-friendly material.
- End-to-End Course Development: Own the complete course development process, from understanding requirements and defining learning objectives to content creation, storyboarding, authoring, testing, and final delivery.
- Instructional Design & Storyboarding: Develop detailed, screen-by-screen storyboards covering on-screen text, voiceover scripts, visuals, software demonstrations, interactions, and assessments.
- E-learning Authoring: Design and develop interactive courses using Articulate Storyline and Rise 360, incorporating appropriate navigation, multimedia, scenarios, quizzes, and other interactive elements.
- Software-Based Training: Create practical training courses for software applications, digital tools, enterprise platforms, and technical workflows, ensuring that learners can understand and apply the concepts.
- Instructional Design Frameworks: Apply the ADDIE model, Blooms Taxonomy, and other instructional design principles to create structured, outcome-driven learning experiences.
- Learning Objectives & Assessments: Define measurable learning objectives and develop relevant activities, knowledge checks, and assessments aligned with the intended learning outcomes.
- SME & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, technical teams, and clients to gather information, validate technical accuracy, clarify concepts, and incorporate feedback.
- Content Review & Quality Assurance: Review and refine courses for technical accuracy, instructional effectiveness, consistency, usability, and learner engagement.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend suitable instructional approaches, interactive elements, and learning strategies based on audience needs and course objectives.
Desired Candidate Profile & Experience:
- Graduate in any discipline; IT or Computer Science background preferred.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
- Strong technical writing and instructional content development skills, with the ability to create learning content independently from scratch.
- Hands-on experience developing technical or software-based courses, including both content writing and course authoring.
- Proficiency in Articulate Storyline and Rise 360.
- Working knowledge of the ADDIE model and Blooms Taxonomy.
- Ability to develop storyboards, scripts, assessments, and interactive learning materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex technical information.
Good to Have:
- Experience with Adobe Captivate or other e-learning authoring tools.
- Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and experience creating accessible e-learning content.
- Experience developing software simulations, product training, or enterprise application training.
