Job summary

Apave International - India is seeking an experienced Inspection Engineer to lead vendor inspections of pipes, pipe fittings, forgings and castings. You will review ITPs, MTCs and drawings, witness NDT activities and ensure compliance with ASTM, ASME and API standards on site across India.

Ideal candidates have Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, ASNT Level II in RT/PT/MT/UT and at least 5 years in QA/QC or third-party inspection, with willingness to travel to vendor

Qualifications

  • Diploma or BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • ASNT Level II certification in RT, PT, MT, and UT.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA/QC or Third-Party Inspection (TPI).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct vendor inspections for pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings at manufacturing facilities.
  • Review engineering drawings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and quality documentation.
  • Witness and verify dimensional inspections, NDT activities, hydrostatic testing, heat treatment, and other manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable ASTM, ASME, API, and international quality standards.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, release notes, punch lists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Maintain inspection records and provide timely updates on inspection status.

Apave International - India is looking for an experienced Inspection Engineer with a strong background in the inspection of pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience in vendor inspections, quality assurance, non‑destructive testing (NDT), and compliance with international standards such as ASTM, ASME, and API.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
  • ASNT Level II certification in RT, PT, MT, and UT
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC or Third-Party Inspection (TPI)
  • Proven experience in inspection of pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings
  • Exposure to manufacturing environments such as pipe/fitting manufacturers, foundries, forging companies, steel plants, or heavy engineering industries
Key Responsibilities

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Third‑Party Inspection (TPI) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of ASTM, ASME, API, and relevant international codes and standards.
  • Additional NDT certifications in UT, MT, PT, and RT will be an advantage.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Good report‑writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to vendor locations across India.
