Job summary

Qualifications

• ASNT Level II certification (RT, PT, MT, UT) required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with ASTM, ASME, API and international codes.
• Experience in preparing inspection reports and NCRs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vendor inspections for pipes, fittings, forgings, and castings at manufacturing facilities.
• Review ITPs, MTCs and quality documentation to ensure compliance.
• Witness dimensional inspections, hydrostatic testing, heat treatment, and NDT activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and international standards.
• Prepare inspection reports, release notes, punch lists and NCRs.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain inspection records and provide status updates.

Position Summary:-

Apave International - India is seeking an experienced Inspection Engineer with a strong background in the inspection of pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings.

The Inspection Engineer will be responsible for vendor inspections, quality assurance, non-destructive testing (NDT), and compliance with applicable international standards, including ASTM, ASME, and API. The role involves working at manufacturing facilities and coordinating with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure quality requirements are met.

The position offers extensive field exposure across vendor locations in India and opportunities to work on industrial projects and within leading manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:-

• Conduct vendor inspections for pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings at manufacturing facilities.
• Review engineering drawings, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and quality documentation.
• Witness and verify dimensional inspections, NDT activities, hydrostatic testing, heat treatment, and other manufacturing processes.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable ASTM, ASME, API, and international quality standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, release notes, punch lists, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain inspection records and provide timely updates on inspection status.

Qualifications:-

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• ASNT Level II certification in RT, PT, MT, and UT.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM, ASME, API, and relevant international codes and standards.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Good report-writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:-

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC or Third-Party Inspection (TPI).
• Proven experience inspecting pipes, pipe fittings, forgings, and castings.

Exposure to manufacturing environments such as:

• Pipe and pipe fitting manufacturers.
• Heavy engineering industries.
• Willingness to travel extensively to vendor locations across India.

Preferred Qualifications:-

• Experience in Third-Party Inspection (TPI) is highly desirable.
• Additional NDT certifications in UT, MT, PT, and RT are advantageous.

Preferred Industry Background:-

Candidates with experience working in the following industries or organizations are preferred:

• Pipe and pipe fitting manufacturers.
• Forging manufacturers.
• Valve and pressure equipment manufacturers.
• Heavy engineering and process equipment companies.
• Oil and gas equipment manufacturing.
• Third-Party Inspection agencies.
