Job summary

Nallam Digitals Private Limited in Hyderabad is seeking an Information Technology Hardware Technician for a full-time, on-site role. You will install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals, diagnosing and repairing hardware issues to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of computer hardware, basic networking, Windows and Linux, and good communication skills to support users and coordinate with vendors for procurement and warranty

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues including motherboard, RAM, storage, power, display and peripherals.
• Install/configure Windows OS and required software; maintain hardware inventories.
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware procurement and warranty services.
• Maintain records of repairs and service activities; provide timely technical support.

Role Description

The Information Technology Hardware Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices such as printers, routers, and switches. The technician will diagnose and resolve hardware issues, replace faulty components, and perform routine preventive maintenance to reduce downtime. Daily tasks include responding to support requests, documenting hardware configurations and repairs, coordinating with vendors for hardware procurement and warranty services, and ensuring that all equipment complies with company security and performance standards. The role may also involve assisting with hardware upgrades for system optimization and supporting project rollouts across the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware components, peripherals, and basic networking devices (desktops, laptops, printers, routers, switches).
• Experience with hardware installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in an enterprise or small business environment.
• Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux), basic system setup, and hardware-related OS configuration tasks.
• Ability to diagnose issues using hardware diagnostic tools and interpret logs or error codes to identify root causes.
• Understanding of safe handling practices for electronic components and adherence to IT security and data protection guidelines.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language to non-technical users.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple on-site support requests.
• Relevant technical certification (such as CompTIA A+, hardware-focused diploma, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Previous experience in an IT support or hardware technician role, particularly within a corporate or service-provider environment, is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware.
• Troubleshoot critical hardware issues, including motherboard, RAM, hard disk/SSD, power supply, display, and peripheral problems.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and required software.
• Troubleshoot software errors, application issues, driver problems, and system performance issues.
• Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and networking-related issues.
• Install and configure printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
• Perform data backup, system formatting, OS installation, and software configuration when required.
• Identify the root cause of recurring technical problems and implement suitable solutions.
• Maintain records of hardware, software, repairs, replacements, and service activities.
• Provide technical support to employees/users and resolve issues within the required time.
• Escalate issues to senior technical teams or vendors when necessary.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech / B.E. / B.Sc . / BCA / relevant technical qualification in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in IT hardware support or technical support is preferred.
• Freshers with strong practical hardware troubleshooting knowledge may also be considered.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to handle urgent and critical technical issues.
• Willingness to travel to client/branch locations if required.
• Valid driving licence would be an advantage, if field support is part of the role.
