Job summary

Roquette Group in Pantnagar seeks an experienced Buyer to drive cost-effective sourcing for the plant, manage supplier relationships, and release purchase orders in alignment with SOPs.

You will handle requisitions, negotiate with vendors, monitor inventory, and ensure timely material availability while complying with regulatory and Roquette standards. This role requires 7–10+ years in manufacturing, a Mechanical background, and a focus on energy/fuel management.

Qualifications

• Proficient in purchasing fundamentals and supplier negotiation.
• Experience in managing supplier development and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of project management and procurement processes.
• Experience with energy/fuel management portfolios is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand Purchase requirements from User departments and convert to procurement actions.
• Receive and monitor purchase requisitions; float enquiries and RFPs; prepare TBA & CBA; negotiate and release purchase orders.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure on-time delivery and performance; support payment processes with accounts.
• Develop vendor base for ARC and consolidate consumable requirements; monitor inventory per production plan.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing regulations and Roquette standards; coordinate with store and accounts for payments.
• Prepare MIS reports and maintain records for audit and compliance; manage budgeting/saving reports.

Job description

To meet our challenges, we are looking for a Buyer within the Procurement team! This position will be located in Pantnagar.

This position is responsible for effective and cost oriented sourcing operations for the plant adhering to the SOP's with a focus on sustainable and environment friendly outlook.

Your experience and talents will make the difference to:

Key accountabilities:

• Dealing with User departments for understanding the Purchase requirements
• Receive and monitor purchase requisitions.
• Identifying suppliers, floating enquiries/RFPs, preparing TBA & CBA of offers received from vendors, negotiation and creating orders/Rate-contracts. Releasing purchase orders as required.
• Managing the relationship with the vendors on the ongoing basis to ensure adherence to the supply and performance
• Supporting users and account department for payment process.
• Developing the vendor for ARC for consolidating various consumable requirements
• Understanding the requirement and managing alternative suppliers which is cost effective
• Preparing MIS Reports as per requirement of management within the given deadline
• Maintaining of records and documents concerned for Audit and compliance
• Budget/Saving Related Reports
• Ensuring Material Availability at plant within defined & desired realistic timeline related to Projects & Import.
• Provides guidance and assistance to the team in all aspects of purchasing.
• Ensures that all purchasing is in compliance with regulations and laws related to Purchasing practices and in accordance with Roquette standard practices.
• Coordinates and resolves problems with end user departments and suppliers
• Resolving issues and correspondence with vendor / contractors for material delivery
• Managing logistics activities and co-ordination with store and account department for payment process.
• Defining and maintaining appropriate levels of inventory at plant based on production plan.
