Job summary

Roquette Group in Gokak, India, seeks a Buyer to manage procurement within the Plant Procurement team. The role focuses on cost-efficient sourcing, supplier relations, and ensuring timely delivery of mechanical spares and maintenance services.

The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing and a strong understanding of SAP/ERP, MS Excel, and cost analysis. This on-site position supports SCM processes and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
• Vendor development and supplier management.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• PO management experience.
• Mechanical spares knowledge (bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, etc.).
• Proficient in SAP/ERP and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure mechanical spares, consumables, and maintenance services as per plant requirements.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and stores for procurement planning.
• Track orders, deliveries, and service completion to meet timelines.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Ensure procurement policy compliance and audit readiness.
• Prepare timely MIS reports and cost tracking.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure mechanical spares, consumables, and maintenance services as per plant requirements.
• Obtain quotations, conduct price negotiations, and finalize purchase orders.
• Develop and maintain relationships with approved vendors and service providers.
• Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and stores teams for technical clarifications and procurement planning.
• Track order execution, deliveries, and service completion to ensure compliance with timelines.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and vendor development.
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, documentation, and audit requirements.
• Timely MIS reports and cost tracking
