Job summary

Godrej Enterprises Group seeks an experienced Procurement professional to manage end-to-end mechanical and civil item sourcing. You will evaluate quotations, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery while aligning with project needs and budgets.

The role emphasizes MIS, inventory control, supplier coordination, and continuous improvement through Kaizen and process optimization. Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering is required.

• Essential: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Preferred: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of all mechanical and civil items (Fabrication, TMT, Conductor, Cement, Pre-Engineered building, EOT crane, DG Set, Fire-fighting System, HVAC, VMS, PA System, Solar Modules, Inverter, etc.).
• Understand project requirements, tender specs, approved vendor list, and customer requirements; receive and evaluate quotations and negotiate using sourcing levers.
• Ensure on-time delivery, cross-functional coordination, and compliance from indenting to payment; manage procurement process and supplier relationships.
• Drive MIS-based cost savings and budget adherence; maintain Purchase MIS, inventory control, and process improvements.
• Coordinate for receiving material, inspection, GRN, material handling, and storage; optimize supplier credit periods and Kaizen initiatives.

Job Description

1. The incumbent would be responsible for procurement of all mechanical and civil items e.g., Fabrication, TMT, Conductor, Cement, Pre-Engineered building, EOT crane, DG Set, Fire-fighting System, HVAC, VMS, PA System, Solar Modules, Inverter, etc. as per the following: 1.Materials Procurement and Driving Material Cost-Understanding project requirement, Tender specification, Approved vendor list, Customer requirements. Receiving and Evaluating Quotations, Negotiation by using sourcing levers, covering business risk back-to-back while placing orders, On-time delivery, Cross functional coordination including corporate.-Ensuring process compliance for all the process from indenting to payment to suppliers
2. Operational Excellence through MIS-Ensure achievement of savings w.r.t. budget as per plan using sourcing levers, commodity tracking, and innovative ways of working.-Maintaining Purchase MIS & taking decisions to meet business objectives / process improvement / putting controls / productivity improvement / kaizens, etc-Ensuring timely support to project for erection / commissioning / services wherever applicable-Improving supplier-s credit period for 90 days and above for Non-MSE suppliers-Add value in the processes after analyzing the current processes and benchmarking with outside industries-Co-ordination for receiving material and Inspection, Timely GRN Material Handling & Storage, Inventory reconciliation & Control, Material Safety
3. Purchase and Inventory Control. -Ensuring meeting monthly billing targets by timely supply of material
4. Quality Control Management-Set the process for procuring Quality material though close co-ordination with Quality department
5. System Administration through Infor-System Administration for Infor, Data Entry and Verification
6. Organizational imperatives-Training and development of subordinates and team building-Kaizen & Business Excellence-Continuous improvement through Kaizen and other management program.-IMS compliance

Qualification Details

Essential Qualification :

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Qualification :

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience Details

Essential Experience :

• Min 2 yrs for Degree holders
• Min 4 yrs for Diploma holders with relevant experience

Preferred Experience :

• Min 4 yrs for Degree holder
• Min 6 yrs for Diploma holders
