Job summary

Blue Star in Tirupati invites an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead IE activities in the plant. You will conduct time studies, motion analysis, and method studies, drive Kaizen, line balancing, and SMED initiatives, and improve layouts and ergonomics for new product lines.

The role requires 10–16 years in IE with BE/BTech in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering, and hands-on knowledge of VSM, Kanban, Heijunka, and LSS tools.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement methods.
• Experience in implementing productivity initiatives and training teams.

Responsibilities

Job Description

1. Leading CFT by guiding Team for implementing productivity initiatives. Capacity improvement, BCT reduction, ECRS Kaizen, Visual Control Tools implement, NVA time reduction, TIMWOOD, Offline manpower reduction, SWCT analysis, Line Balancing, OEE & Line Efficiency analysis, Relief manpower, Flexible Manpower Line, Takt time production, SMED implementation.
2. Conduct periodic Time study, Motion analysis, Method Study in Plant.
3. Improve ergonomics for fatigue free environment.
4. To improve manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
5. Flexible Assembly line designing, One piece Flow, Conveyor transfer Line
6. Elimination of flow Convergent/ Divergent, Multiple handling & WIP elimination, Area efficiency & Plant space optimization per unit
7. Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, trends and developments in technology and equipment.
8. Identifies and assesses various problems to established manufacturing standards and best practices. Lot size kaizen, Mixed load feeding, System implementation (like; Fixed time & Fixed lot), Manual transport elimination, Travelling Distance reduction etc.
9. Plan IE activities with KPI's and maintain MIS. Daily Labour Efficiency report publishing.
10. Should have experience improvement activities Incoming inspection/ Receiving & Store/ Dispatch with understanding of VSM, Flow kaizen, Lead time reduction, Inventory reduction, Small lot kaizen. Knowledge in Heijunka/ Pull system/ Kanban level up Plant.
11. Exposure of Material handling improvement activities to improve o/p, delivery. (MHE exposer e.g.: Tow Truck, AGV, Reach Trucks, Type of Conveyors, Lifting & shifting, ASRS etc.)
12. Experience of delivering Training & Workshop for Plant Team for basics of IE Standards for maintaining awareness & culture.
13. Understand and analyze graphs and statistics and other complex information;
14. Prepare and control Manpower plan (direct & indirect) in co-ordination with fuction heads.
15. Additionally, working experience with Lean Pipes & Join structures for making Low cost automation needed for easy operation. Working knowledge of Jigs, fixtures, tooling etc.
