Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in India seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize work content, balance lines and layouts, and drive productivity improvements on the shop floor.

You will implement lean principles, conduct cost studies, and lead manpower planning and ergonomics initiatives. The role involves coordinating with design teams on new product launches, analyzing bottlenecks, and delivering data-driven decisions to management.

Qualifications

• Most & Line balancing experience.
• Exposure to new product planning from IE perspective and Ergonomics will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work content measurement using MOST, Union Management: Dealing with the Union during productivity linked proposals and negotiations.
• Manpower Management: Evaluate and calculate number of manpower and capacity as per monthly plan. Manage resources and maintain schedule requirements to meet production and distribution schedules.
• Knowledge and application of lean principles like SPF, waste reduction, SMED, VSM etc.
• Low-Cost Automation: Evaluate the proposal and prepare a Business case to present to senior Management. Performing cost studies, economic comparisons, and justification analysis.
• New Product Launches - Work Content optimization: Work with Design teams to reduce the work content at the design and process level, before the product comes to the shopfloor.
• Balance the multi model line and layout for optimum material flow and Takt time. Determine all pulse points and set up program to optimize flow, inventory, people and process.
• Analyze existing operations and propose cost justified improvements.
• Analyze bottlenecks in the process and coordinate debottlenecking with multi department resources to improve productivity.
• Communicate project status reports on all identified initiatives using the appropriate tools
