Job summary

Pragya Refrigeration & Electricals in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, is hiring an Industrial Design Engineer to support the development of manufacturable products. The role covers concept creation, 3D modeling, engineering drawings, prototype evaluation, and cross-functional coordination to move ideas into production.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in mechanical/product/industrial design, 3–7 years in manufacturing or HVAC, and strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/ Creo/ AutoCAD/ CATIA/ Inventor).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Product Design / Industrial Design or equivalent.
• 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, or HVAC production sectors.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication, machining, and plastics.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, material selection, and design calculations.
• Experience in prototype evaluation and technical problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop product concepts, 3D models, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Evaluate and improve the design, aesthetics, ergonomics, and visual appeal of existing product ranges aligned with market trends, customer expectations, and brand identity.
• Support product lifecycle activities from concept, prototyping, validation, and production release.
• Create and maintain BOMs, assembly drawings, and engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Review designs for manufacturability, cost optimization, and product performance.
• Coordinate prototype development, testing, and implementation of design improvements.
• Drive engineering changes and maintain technical records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, and internal design practices.
