Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC in Talegaon is seeking a senior Industrial Designer with 8–15 years of experience to drive concept generation, prototyping, and user workspace design for defence systems. The role requires mastery of design thinking, ergonomics, and collaboration with engineering and software teams to implement UI concepts.

The candidate should be proficient in 3D modelling, rendering, and visualization tools, with strong skills in materials knowledge and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Master of Design and BTech are required.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in industrial design.
• Experience with design thinking for product design in defence/industrial contexts.
• Knowledge of ergonomics, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct user research, concept generation, prototyping, and validation using design thinking for industrial design.
• Design user workspaces for defence systems/equipment.
• Incorporate ergonomics into product design.
• Plan packaging and layout for defence systems/equipment.
• Design for assembly, manufacturing, and maintenance.
• Develop soft models and mock-ups for concept evaluation and refinement.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for concept optimization and detailing.
• Collaborate on user interface design and work with software teams for UI implementation.

• Key Responsibilities
• User research, concept generation, prototyping, validation of concept etc. by applying ‘Design Thinking’ process for ‘Industrial Design’.
• User workspace design for defence systems/equipment
