Job summary

Kineco is seeking an experienced CAD engineer to develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed 2D drawings for Defence & Industrial products. You will design sheet-metal, fabricated, machined and structural components, and prepare GD&T, tolerances and BOMs according to project needs.

You will interpret customer drawings and specs, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support DFM/DFA, design changes and validation of new or modified products.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in 3D CAD and 2D drafting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFA and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience in sheet-metal design, fabrication, machining and welded assemblies.
• Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and fasteners.

Job description

• Develop 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings for Defence & Industrial products.
• Design and detail sheet-metal, fabricated, machined and structural components as per project requirements.
• Prepare GD&T, tolerances, BOMs, part drawings and engineering documentation.
• Work on product development, design modifications, engineering changes and design optimization.
• Interpret customer drawings, specifications, standards and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Project teams for design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Support DFM/DFA, cost reduction and design improvement initiatives.
• Conduct design reviews and resolve technical issues related to fitment, assembly, dimensions and manufacturability.
• Prepare and maintain Engineering Change Notes (ECN), Design Change Requests and revision-controlled drawings.
• Support prototype development, trials, testing and validation of new/modified products.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable Defence, Industrial, customer and engineering standards.
• Maintain proper control of drawings, CAD data, BOMs and other technical documents.
• Provide technical support during production and address design-related shop-floor issues.

Key Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in 3D CAD and 2D drafting.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks / Creo / CATIA / AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFM/DFA and engineering drawing standards.
• Experience in sheet-metal design, fabrication, machining and welded assemblies.
• Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, fasteners and joining methods.
• Knowledge of BOM preparation, revision control and engineering change management.
• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and technical specifications.
• Exposure to prototype development and product validation.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP/PDM/PLM systems will be an advantage.
