Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC in Talegaon, India, invites an experienced Industrial/Product Designer to lead concept development for defence systems. A BE is required with 3–5 years of experience.

You will conduct user research, generate concepts, prototype and validate designs using Design Thinking, ensure ergonomics, packaging, and seamless collaboration with engineering and software teams.

Qualifications

• BE required with focus on product/industrial design.
• Experience in industrial design and development.
• Knowledge of design thinking processes.

Responsibilities

• User research, concept generation, prototyping, validation of concept using Design Thinking for Industrial Design.
• User workspace design for defence systems/equipment.
• Design for human factors (ergonomics).
• Packaging and layout of defence systems/equipment.
• Design for assembly, manufacturing and maintenance.
• Develop soft models and mock-ups for concept evaluation and refinement.
• Coordinate with Engineering teams for concept optimization and detailing.
• User experience design and collaboration with software teams for UI implementation.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• User research, concept generation, prototyping, validation of concept etc. by applying ‘Design Thinking’ process for ‘Industrial Design’.
• User workspace design for defence systems/equipment
• Design for human factors (ergonomics)
• Packaging and layout of defence systems/equipment
• Design for assembly, manufacturing and maintenance
• Development of soft model and mock-ups for concept evaluation and refinement
• Coordination with Engineering teams for concept optimization and detailing
• User experience design (user interface design) & Collaboration with software teams for implementation of the User Interface

Prior Experience required

• Product/Industrial Design and development experience preferably engineering, technology focused product.

Key Skills:

• Creative Problem solving and conceptualization
• Good sketching and product visualization skills
• Proficient in 3D modelling and realistic rendering software tools
• Proficiency in image editing and graphic design software
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
