Job summary

Ascendion is seeking an Essbase Developer to join our Mumbai team, focusing on Essbase cube design, calculation logic, and reliable reporting within a finance/EPM setting.

You will develop data integrations between Hyperion Planning, Essbase, ERP systems, and data warehouses, and maintain calc scripts and MaxL scripts to support business needs.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years of Essbase (BSO/ASO) experience in enterprise finance/EPM.
• Strong calc scripts, MaxL, and business rules experience.
• Hands-on data integration using FDMEE/Data Management or ODI.
• Solid SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Hyperion Planning alongside Essbase.
• Understanding of financial reporting concepts (consolidations, planning cycles).

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance Essbase cube design, calculation logic, and reporting structures.
• Build and maintain data integrations between Hyperion Planning/Essbase and upstream/downstream systems (ERP, data warehouses, FDMEE/Data Management, ODI, etc.).
• Develop and maintain calc scripts, business rules, and MaxL scripts.
• Troubleshoot data load failures, integration breaks, and reporting discrepancies.
• Support enhancement requests tied to business/finance reporting needs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for production support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and finance business teams to ensure end-to-end data accuracy.
