Job summary

Forward Eye Technologies is seeking a seasoned Hyperion Essbase Developer with strong Planning experience to design, implement, and support financial planning and reporting systems. You will lead the development of Essbase cubes and Planning apps, collaborate with finance and IT teams, and optimize budgeting, forecasting, and consolidations.

Key responsibilities include developing calculation scripts, data load rules, and forms, plus ensuring data integration with Oracle/SAP and other ERPs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Hyperion Essbase development and Hyperion Planning.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing Essbase cubes for planning and reporting.
• Strong experience with Hyperion Planning, including calculation scripts and data integration.
• Deep understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and consolidations.
• Proficiency in using SmartView for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Hyperion Essbase cubes and Hyperion Planning applications to support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Collaborate with financial analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and optimize calculation scripts, business rules, forms, and data load rules in Hyperion Planning and Essbase.
• Perform financial modeling in Hyperion Planning for accurate budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Support data integration between Essbase, Planning, and external systems (Oracle, SAP, and other ERPs).
• Provide ongoing support for the financial close process, consolidations, and variance analysis.
• Troubleshoot performance issues in Essbase cubes and optimize system performance for efficiency.
• Implement and maintain SmartView reports and templates for on-demand financial reporting.
• Ensure security and data integrity by managing user access and compliance with regulations.
• Provide training and support to finance teams on planning and reporting tools.
• Document technical designs, configuration settings, and best practices for maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Hyperion Essbase and its integration with Hyperion Planning to optimize financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, and consolidations. This role will collaborate closely with finance and IT teams to build scalable, efficient financial models that support business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands -on experience in Hyperion Essbase development and Hyperion Planning.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing Essbase cubes for financial planning and reporting.
• Strong experience with Hyperion Planning, including calculation scripts, business rules, and data integration.
• Deep understanding of financial processes such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and consolidations.
• Proficiency in using SmartView for reporting and analysis.
• Solid experience in data integration between Essbase/Planning and external systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.).
• Knowledge of SQL and data extraction techniques to enhance integration and reporting capabilities.
• Strong understanding of financial/accounting principles and how they relate to planning and budgeting models.
• Excellent problem -solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with finance and IT teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Oracle EPM Cloud or Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Hands -on experience in upgrading or migrating Hyperion systems.
• Knowledge of PL/SQL for advanced data manipulation and reporting.
• Experience with financial reporting and variance analysis in large organizations.
