Job summary

Ascendion in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Hyperion/Essbase developer to join our enterprise finance/EPM team. You will design and optimize Essbase cubes, write calc scripts, and build robust data integrations with ERP and data warehouses.

The ideal candidate has 4-8 years of Essbase experience, strong SQL, and familiarity with Oracle Cloud EPM. You will support planning cycles, automate jobs with EPM Automate, and collaborate across finance and IT.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years working with Essbase (BSO and/or ASO) in an enterprise finance/EPM environment.
• Strong experience with calc scripts, MaxL, and business rules.
• Hands-on experience with data integration tools such as FDMEE/Data Management or ODI.
• Solid SQL skills for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Hyperion Planning in conjunction with Essbase.
• Understanding of financial reporting concepts (consolidations, planning cycles, etc.).
• Oracle Cloud EPM (PBCS/EPBCS) exposure.
• EPM Automate / scripting for automated integration jobs.
• Experience integrating with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle EBS, etc.).
• Prior experience supporting eCommerce or fintech finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Support and enhance Essbase cube design, calculation logic, and reporting structures.
• Build and maintain data integrations between Hyperion Planning/Essbase and upstream/downstream systems (ERP, data warehouses, FDMEE/Data Management, ODI, etc.).
• Develop and maintain calc scripts, business rules, and MaxL scripts.
• Troubleshoot data load failures, integration breaks, and reporting discrepancies.
• Support enhancement requests tied to business/finance reporting needs.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for production support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and finance business teams to ensure end-to-end data accuracy.
