Job summary

EVAC Engineering Projects Pvt. Ltd in India is seeking a HVAC Sales Costing Engineer (Back Office) to prepare accurate cost estimates for Central HVAC Plants (Chillers, AHUs, Cooling Towers) and VRF/VRV systems. You will support the sales team with techno-commercial inputs and help secure projects.

Responsibilities include quantity take-off, vendor price analysis, BOQ preparation, costing sheets, and coordinating with OEMs, design/engineering, and procurement for timely proposal submissions.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• Experience in HVAC estimation / costing / sales support.
• Ability to read drawings and tender documents with accuracy.

HVAC Sales Costing Engineer (Back Office)

Role Summary

The HVAC Sales Costing Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC systems including Central Plant and VRF solutions. The role supports the sales team by providing techno-commercial inputs, enabling effective bidding, and helping secure projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Costing & Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for:
• Central HVAC Plants (Chillers, AHUs, Cooling Towers, Pumps, etc.)
• VRF / VRV systems
• Quantity take-off from drawings, BOQs, and tender documents
• Vendor comparison and price analysis
• Preparation of bill of quantities (BOQ) and costing sheets

2. Technical Support to Sales

• Assist sales team in preparing techno-commercial proposals
• Suggest optimized system configurations based on project requirements
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for technical data and pricing
• Support in tender submissions and bid documentation

3. Proposal & Documentation

• Preparation of:
• Cost sheets
• Technical submittals
• Compliance statements
• Maintain records of past estimates and pricing databases

4. Coordination

• Work closely with:
• Sales team
• Design/engineering team
• Procurement/vendors
• Ensure alignment between design intent and commercial costing

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems:
• Central Plant (Chilled water systems)
• VRF/VRV systems
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings and tender documents
• Proficiency in MS Excel (costing sheets, formulas, analysis)
• Basic understanding of HVAC design principles
• Good analytical and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in costing

Educational Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (preferred)

Experience

• 46 years of experience in HVAC estimation / costing / sales support
• Experience in handling commercial and industrial HVAC projects preferred

Preferred (Good to Have)

• Experience with HVAC software/tools (HAP, Carrier, etc.)
