Naukri E-hire is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer in India to design central air conditioning and HVAC systems. You will perform heat load calculations, equipment selection, ducting and piping design, and prepare BOQs and cost estimates in line with ASHRAE/ISHRAE and local codes.

The role requires collaboration with architects and project teams, guidance to junior engineers, and strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP for drawings and coordination.

Job Summary

We are looking for an HVAC Design Engineer with experience in designing central air conditioning and HVAC systems. The candidate will be responsible for heat load calculations, equipment selection, ducting and chilled water piping design, preparation of technical drawings, BOQs, and cost estimates, while ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform heat load calculations using HVAC design software such as HAP or Carrier E20.


• Select and size HVAC equipment based on project requirements, including:




• Chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, and expansion tanks.


• VRV/VRF indoor and outdoor units.


• Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Treated Fresh Air (TFA) units.




• Design and review HVAC layouts, schematics, and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.


• Calculate duct static pressure, friction losses, and chilled water pipe sizes.


• Prepare technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and cost estimates.


• Ensure HVAC designs comply with applicable ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and local building codes.


• Coordinate with architects, project managers, and other engineering teams to resolve design clashes and technical issues.


• Guide junior engineers and draftsmen and review design deliverables.


• Support design documentation and technical coordination throughout project execution.

Desired Candidate Profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.


• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in HVAC design, HVAC consulting, or MEP projects.


• Strong understanding of central air conditioning systems and HVAC equipment selection.


• Working knowledge of heat load calculations, psychrometrics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.


• Experience with HVAC design software, particularly HAP, AutoCAD, and Revit MEP.


• Understanding of ducting layouts, chilled water piping, ventilation systems, and equipment sizing.


• Knowledge of ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and applicable building codes.


• Ability to prepare BOQs, technical specifications, and cost estimates.


• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams.
