Job summary

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in India seeks a Sr.Engineer/Engineer HVAC or Mechanical to design and review HVAC systems, applying NBC/IS and ASHRAE guidance, and coordinating with architectural and structural teams.

You will develop heat loads, ventilation, pump head, and chiller sizing, prepare AutoCAD drawings, create material take-offs and BOQs, and participate in client and consultant meetings; willingness for extended hours is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 15 years HVAC design & execution.
• Experience with architect/developer/PM/MEP design firms or related.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings to ensure HVAC layouts comply with codes and design intent.
• Coordinate with structural, interior, and landscape drawings for HVAC routing and equipment placement.
• Perform HVAC system calculations including heat load, ventilation, and chiller sizing.
• Prepare and modify HVAC drawings using AutoCAD and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Prepare material take-off sheets and BOQs.
• Attend client and architect meetings with senior engineers or project leads.
• Willingness to work extended hours when timelines demand.

MEP Team-Position: Sr.Engineer/Engineer HVAC or Mechanical

Job Description:

• Apply knowledge of local bye-laws, Indian standards (NBC, IS), and international codes (ASHRAE, ISHRAE) in HVAC system design.
• Review architectural drawings to ensure HVAC layouts comply with applicable codes and design intent.
• Coordinate with structural, interior, and landscape drawings to validate HVAC routing, equipment placement, and service access.
• Perform HVAC system calculations including heat load, ventilation, pump head (primary/secondary), and chiller plant sizing (air-cooled/water-cooled).
• Prepare and modify HVAC drawings using AutoCAD; coordinate with other disciplines for clash-free design.
• Interpret design briefs and specifications; prepare material take-off sheets and BOQs.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, consultants, and vendors.
• Understand and specify HVAC materials and equipment based on project requirements.
• Prepare technical inputs for sanction drawings in line with MOEF, PCB, and other statutory bodies.
• Develop HVAC design questionnaires aligned with architectural and interior layouts.
• (Preferred) Experience or familiarity with Revit MEP for BIM-based coordination.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting teams, especially for commercial and healthcare projects.
• Attend client and architect meetings with support from senior engineers or project leads.
• Willingness to work extended hours when project timelines demand.

Knowledge Required:

• Statutory national and international codes like related HVAC design
• Strong academic foundation in HVAC principles and building services.
• Knowledge on building information modelling (BIM) will be added advantage
• Knowledge in project management consultancy will be added an advantage

Skills Required:

• Knowledge on Auto Cad, REVIT, MS office (Excel, Word & Power Point etc.).

Qualification: Diploma or B.E or M.E Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

• 5 to 15 years HVAC design & execution
• Candidates with experience with architect/ developer/project management consultancy/MEPF Design firm / MEP Contracting firm /Building Information Organisation Will be highly preferred
