Job summary

Pan Gulf Technologies Pvt Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Design to lead heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation studies, and energy modeling for BIM-enabled projects. The role requires 4–9 years of HVAC design experience, proficiency in Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE 3D Plus, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and BIM collaboration.

Job description

Designation: Mechanical Engineer - HVAC Design

Department: BIM MEP

Experience: 4-9 Years

Job Objective :

Perform HVAC heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation and psychrometric analyses, energy modeling, and duct system design. Produce accurate calculations, equipment selections, drawings, and coordinated BIM deliverables in accordance with client requirements and applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare heating and cooling load calculations for commercial, institutional, and other building projects.
• Perform psychrometric analysis and outdoor air/ventilation calculations.
• Develop HVAC load and energy models using Carrier HAP and Trane TRACE 3D Plus.
• Conduct energy analysis, evaluate design alternatives, and document assumptions and results.
• Size supply, return, fresh air, and exhaust ductwork using appropriate design methodologies.
• Calculate duct pressure losses and total external static pressure for fan and equipment selection.
• Select fans, diffusers, grilles, registers, and related air distribution components.
• Design general exhaust systems and Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems (DOAS).
• Prepare design calculations, technical reports, equipment schedules, drawings, details, and markups.
• Coordinate HVAC systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and BIM teams.
• Review client requirements, identify missing information, and raise RFIs as needed.
• Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, code compliance, and consistency across deliverables.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for calculation-intensive design responsibilities.

Technical Competencies

• Ability to size ductwork, calculate static pressure, and select fans and air devices.
• Experience designing exhaust systems and DOAS.
• Ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, IMC, energy codes, and project standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on North American or international MEP projects.
• Experience coordinating HVAC design in Revit-based BIM environments.
• Familiarity with Navisworks clash detection and BIM 360.
• Experience with energy-code compliance, high-performance buildings, or LEED analysis.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and BIM modelers.
