Job summary

Buro Happold in Bengaluru is seeking an HVAC & PHE Design Engineer for residential and commercial projects across the UK and Middle East. The role covers HVAC, PHE, plumbing, drainage, water supply, and fire protection system design and coordinated BIM/CAD modeling.

Applicants should have a mechanical or civil engineering degree, 3–8 years’ experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP. UK BS/CIBSE standards and Middle East codes familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Develop specifications, reports, BOQs and tender docs.
• Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP teams.
• Participate in design reviews, site visits and client discussions.

HVAC & PHE Design Engineer | Residential & Commercial Projects (UK & Middle East)

Experienced in the design and engineering of HVAC, Public Health Engineering (PHE), Plumbing, Drainage, Water Supply, and Fire Protection Systems for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and hospitality developments across the UK and Middle East regions. Skilled in preparing detailed engineering designs, calculations, specifications, layouts, and technical reports in compliance with international and local standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including cooling load calculations, ventilation, ducting, chilled water, and equipment selection for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and review PHE systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, stormwater, pumping, and fire protection systems.
• Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, riser diagrams, schedules, and coordinated BIM/CAD models.
• Perform design calculations, equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, and system selection in accordance with UK and Middle East codes and standards.
• Develop technical specifications, design reports, BOQs, and tender documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP disciplines, and external stakeholders throughout project stages.
• Participate in design review meetings, client discussions, site visits, and project coordination workshops.
• Ensure all designs meet quality, safety, sustainability, and project-specific requirements.
• Support project delivery from concept design through detailed design and construction stages.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure timely completion of deliverables within agreed schedules.

Required Qualifications
