Job summary

XELUXE Engineering Consultancy in Kerala invites an experienced HVAC Designer to join our engineering team. You will prepare HVAC drawings, layouts, ducting and piping plans using AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and coordinate with other MEP disciplines.

The role requires 2–5 years in HVAC design, strong knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit MEP, and the ability to read architectural and structural drawings. UAE/GCC project exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant HVAC design experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit MEP experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC design and layout drawings for building projects.

• Prepare plans, sections, elevations and detailed HVAC drawings using AutoCAD/Revit MEP.
• Coordinate HVAC layouts with electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other MEP services.

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Designer to join our engineering team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing HVAC design drawings, layouts, ducting and piping plans, and supporting the engineering team in developing efficient HVAC solutions for building services projects. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP, a good understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to coordinate designs with other MEP disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC design and layout drawings for building projects.
• Develop HVAC ducting, piping and equipment layouts based on project requirements.
• Prepare plans, sections, elevations and detailed HVAC drawings using AutoCAD/Revit MEP.
• Design and coordinate:
• Supply and return air ducting
• Fresh air and exhaust systems
• Chilled water piping
• HVAC equipment layouts
• Ventilation systems
• Grilles, diffusers and dampers
• Assist engineers in HVAC load calculations and equipment selection.
• Review architectural and structural drawings and incorporate HVAC requirements.
• Coordinate HVAC layouts with electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other MEP services.
• Identify and resolve clashes between HVAC and other services.
• Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings and as-built drawings.
• Revise drawings based on consultant/client comments.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable project specifications, standards and codes.
• Assist the project team during site execution by providing design clarification and technical support.
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing revisions throughout the project.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in HVAC design.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience in Revit MEP will be an advantage.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, ducting, piping and ventilation.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC design standards and practices.
• Good coordination and communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in commercial buildings, residential buildings, hotels, hospitals or industrial projects.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and relevant international HVAC practices.
• Experience with Navisworks for MEP coordination/clash detection.
• Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software.
• Knowledge of chilled-water and DX-based HVAC systems.
• Experience preparing drawings for UAE/GCC projects would be an advantage.
