Job summary

DAR Engineering in Gurugram, India is seeking a Lead Engineer HVAC to lead design of HVAC systems for large-scale building projects. The candidate will drive concept through construction period design support and work on projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, and healthcare sectors.

The role requires 15+ years of HVAC design experience, strong knowledge of international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA) and experience with Middle Eastern projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Masters preferred.
• 15+ years of HVAC design experience for building services.
• Strong exposure to Middle Eastern projects.
• Proficiency with HAP, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
• Knowledge of LEED/Estidama and energy efficiency practices optional.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design and engineering for complex building projects.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle from concept to construction period design support.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA) and Middle Eastern regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (MEP, architecture, structural, BIM).
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and design teams.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, BOQs, QA documentation, and specifications.
• Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors for design discussions and project delivery.
• Support business development through technical proposals and client presentations.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects with quality and cost efficiency.

We are seeking a Lead Engineer HVAC with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities to manage the design of HVAC systems for large-scale building projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on Middle Eastern projects and a deep understanding of international standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the HVAC design and engineering for complex building projects (commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, mixed-use developments).
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle including concept design, scheme design, detailed design, tendering, and construction period design support.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.) and Middle Eastern regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (MEP, architecture, structural, ID, specialist services such as Kitchen & Laundry, and BIM teams).
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and design teams.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, BOQs, quality assurance documentation, and specifications.
• Interface with clients, consultants, and contractors for design discussions and project delivery.
• Support business development through technical proposals and client presentations.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in HVAC design for building services.
• Strong exposure to Middle Eastern projects (mandatory).
• Proficiency in tools such as HAP, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems design, load calculations, ducting, chilled/hot water systems, and energy efficiency practices.
• Familiarity with Green Building standards (LEED, Estidama, etc.) is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
