Role Description

As the Human Resource Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping our organizational culture, driving talent acquisition strategies, and fostering employee engagement and development. You will collaborate closely with leadership to ensure that our HR practices align with our business objectives and values.

The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and functional Human Resource activities including Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Training & Development, Employee Engagement, Employee Retention, Employer Branding, and HR Operations. This role will also lead the recruitment, development, and retention of tech talent critical to driving innovation and growth in the compliance technology space.

Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Hiring
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent across functions, including tech roles such as developers, data scientists, and QA engineers.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define job requirements, candidate profiles, and interview processes.
  • Source candidates through multiple channels (job portals, LinkedIn, referrals, hackathons, etc.).
  • Manage end-to-end hiring, including screening, interviewing, offer coordination, and onboarding.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience and employer branding alignment.
Talent Development & Growth
  • Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate training, mentorship, and upskilling programs.
  • Design and implement career development frameworks and succession plans.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Performance Management & Employee Relations
  • Manage performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Handle employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related matters, including career development and workplace policies.
Employee Engagement & Retention
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, including events, activities, surveys, and recognition programs.
  • Develop retention strategies to minimize attrition and enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and feedback sessions to address employee concerns and foster a positive work environment.
Employer Branding & Culture Building
  • Promote Smart Food Safe as an employer of choice within the tech community.
  • Organize meetups, tech talks, and internal initiatives to strengthen company culture.
  • Drive initiatives around collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.
HR Operations, Compliance & Compensation
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and industry best practices.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including salary benchmarking, incentives, and employee welfare programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, regulations, and company policies to mitigate legal risks.
  • Maintain HR records, HRIS data, and prepare reports for management review.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in HR and talent management and proactively recommend improvements and innovations.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a software or tech-driven environment.
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and regulations.
  • Tech hiring exposure with understanding of software development and related roles is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Zoho HR information systems is a plus.
