Qualifications

  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 10+ years HR experience in manufacturing or factory setup managing complete HR function at a plant or unit level.
  • Experience in Industrial Relations and labor law compliance.
  • Experience managing annual appraisal and compensation cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and implement HR policies, SOPs and employee handbook.
  • Ensure policies aligned with business objectives and statutory requirements.
  • Regularly update HR policies with labor law changes.
  • Drive HR process improvements and standardization across the plant.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for staff and plant positions.
  • Coordinate manpower planning and budgeting with department heads.
  • Develop recruitment strategies and onboarding activities.
  • Drive Annual Performance Appraisal Cycle and goal setting.
  • Coordinate salary increment cycles and promotions.
  • Manage industrial relations and handle grievances, disciplinary matters.
  • Coordinate with worker representatives and government authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and factory regulations (e.g., IR Code, Shops Act).
  • Identify training needs and organise skill development programs.
  • Lead Administration and Facilities team for smooth operations.
  • Prepare HR dashboards and MIS reports.

Job Brief:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to lead the human resources function for our Indian operations & offices.

The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in employee engagement, policy formulation, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation reviews, statutory compliance, Industrial Relations (IR) and workforce administration within a factory setup.

The HR Manager will play a key role in maintaining harmonious employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, driving talent acquisition, and supporting organizational growth through effective HR practices.

Key Responsibilities
1 HR Policies & Process Management
  • Draft, review and implement HR policies, SOPs and employee handbook.
  • Ensure policies are aligned with business objectives and statutory requirements.
  • Regularly update HR policies based on changes in labor laws and organizational needs.
  • Drive HR process improvements and standardization across the plant.
2. Talent Acquisition & Manpower Planning
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for staff and plant positions.
  • Coordinate with department heads for manpower planning and workforce budgeting.
  • Develop recruitment strategies to attract quality talent.
  • Conduct interviews, salary negotiations and onboarding activities.
3. Performance Management
  • Drive and manage the Annual Performance Appraisal Cycle.
  • Coordinate goal setting, mid-year reviews and annual assessments.
  • Partner with department heads to ensure timely and objective evaluations.
  • Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning initiatives.
4. Compensation & Salary Increment Cycle
  • Manage annual compensation review and salary increment process.
  • Analyze market benchmarking and internal equity considerations.
  • Prepare salary revision recommendations and compensation reports.
  • Coordinate implementation of approved increment and promotion decisions.
5. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
  • Manage and maintain healthy industrial relations across the factory.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct cases and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate with worker representatives, labor unions and government authorities, where applicable.
  • Conduct domestic enquiries and disciplinary proceedings in line with legal requirements.
  • Develop programs to improve employee engagement, productivity and workplace culture.
6. Statutory Compliance & Labor Laws
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and factory regulations.
  • Monitor compliance related to:
    • Factories Act
    • Industrial Relations Code
    • Shops & Establishments Act (where applicable)
    • EPF
    • ESI
    • Bonus Act
    • Gratuity Act
    • Contract Labor Regulations
  • Liaise with government authorities during inspections and audits.
7. Training & Development
  • Identify training needs for staff and workmen.
  • Organize skill development and leadership training programs
  • Maintain training records and effectiveness assessments.
8. Admin function

Lead and develop the Administration and Facilities team, ensuring the efficient delivery of all administrative services, including travel management, office operations, and facilities management, to provide a safe, productive, and professional working environment for all employees.

9. HR Reporting
  • Prepare HR dashboards and MIS reports.
  • Monitor manpower, attrition, absenteeism and productivity metrics.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits.
Preferred candidate profile
Required Qualifications:
  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Additional qualifications in Labor Laws or Industrial Relations will be preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of HR experience in manufacturing or factory setup managing complete HR function at a plant & / or at unit level.
  • Strong recruitment and workforce planning experience.
  • Proven experience in Industrial Relations and labor law compliance.
  • Experience managing annual appraisal and compensation cycles.
