CyberMind Works LLP is seeking a hands-on People Ops professional to lead end-to-end HR activities from onboarding to payroll in our Chennai office.

You will be the first point of contact for people-related matters, ensuring smooth payroll cycles, effective hiring coordination, and well-maintained records. The role requires 1+ years in HR and familiarity with Indian labour laws, with a startup mindset and strong communication.

• Familiarity with Indian labour compliance (PF, ESI, PT, gratuity).
• Strong spreadsheet skills and comfort with HRMS tools.

• Run monthly payroll end-to-end, including statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS).
• Own hiring coordination - sourcing, scheduling, candidate experience, offers.
• Manage office operations - vendors, supplies, facilities, lunch logistics.
• Drive employee relations - onboarding, 1:1s, grievance, exit interviews.
• Maintain employee records - contracts, leave, attendance, ID proofs - accurately.
• Handle admin work - travel, reimbursements, basic compliance filings.

About the role

You'll be the first point of contact for everything people-related - from a new hire's first day to monthly payroll cycles.

You'll keep the office running smoothly and the team taken care of, while keeping records audit-clean.

What you'll do

• Run monthly payroll end-to-end, including statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS).
• Own hiring coordination - sourcing, scheduling, candidate experience, offers.
• Manage office operations - vendors, supplies, facilities, lunch logistics.

Requirements

• 1+ years in an HR / People Ops / HR Generalist role.
• Hands-on experience running payroll for at least 20+ employees.
• Familiarity with Indian labour compliance (PF, ESI, PT, gratuity).
• Strong spreadsheet skills and comfort with HRMS tools (GreytHR, Zoho People, Keka, etc.).
• Excellent written and spoken English; clear, kind communication.
• High ownership - comfortable being the only HR person in the room.
• Worked at an engineering / product startup before.
• Experience setting up HR processes from scratch.
• Industry-standard pay, scaled to experience.
