Job summary

Rancho Labs is seeking an HR Consultant to work closely with our founders on day-to-day people matters. This is a flexible, part-time consulting engagement for someone who enjoys being the trusted person employees can talk to and who can turn concerns into practical solutions.

Based in Delhi with a hybrid work model, you will have in-office meetups twice a month at our Saket office and remote work for the remainder, handling escalations, policy suggestions, and confidential discussions with

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience in generalist or employee relations roles.
• Strong listening skills and ability to build trust.
• Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and HR best practices.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the founders as their go-to HR advisor, guiding employee-related decisions and challenges as they come up.
• Handle employee escalations and grievances fairly and confidentially, investigating issues and recommending resolutions.
• Conduct regular one-on-one conversations with employees to understand their concerns, motivation, and feedback.
• Track recurring issues and follow through until they're resolved, keeping founders informed on team sentiment.
• Mediate conflicts between team members or between employees and managers.
• Suggest improvements to HR policies, communication, and team culture based on what you hear from employees.
• Support with sensitive conversations such as performance concerns, exits, and difficult feedback when needed.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of HR experience, ideally in HR generalist or employee relations roles, preferably with startups or fast-growing teams.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to build trust quickly with employees at all levels.
• Sound judgment in handling confidential and sensitive situations.
• Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and HR best practices.
• Comfortable working independently and communicating directly with founders.
• Open to in-office meetups twice a month, or as required.
• Experience in edtech or small, founder-led organisations is a plus.

• Work mode: Hybrid. Most work can be done remotely, with in-person meetings at our Saket office twice a month or as per requirement (for example, for one-on-ones or sensitive escalations).
