Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance in an industrial plant.
• Mandatory experience in Coke Oven, Steel Plant, or Heavy Engineering industry.
• Hands-on maintenance expertise across plant machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings and material handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities across the plant.
• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
• Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and material handling systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Plan and execute maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
• Lead and supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and contractors.
• Coordinate with production and other departments for uninterrupted operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement reliability improvements.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to manage and supervise mechanical maintenance activities in a heavy industrial plant. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery, with hands-on experience in Coke Oven, Steel Plant, or Heavy Engineering industries. The role requires ensuring maximum equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and leading maintenance teams to support uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities across the plant.
  
• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.
  
• Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and material handling systems.
  
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance in an industrial plant.
  
• Mandatory experience in Coke Oven, Steel Plant, or Heavy Engineering industry.
  
• Strong expertise in machine maintenance, conveyor maintenance, and material handling systems.
  
• Hands-on experience in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.
  
• Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment including gearboxes, bearings, pumps, conveyors, motors, and rotating equipment.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  
• Experience in maintenance planning and spare parts management.
  
• Excellent team-handling, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Ability to work independently in a plant environment with a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.
