The candidate should have strong exposure to preventive and breakdown maintenance of heavy industrial equipment and be capable of leading maintenance teams to achieve maximum plant availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure maximum availability and reliability of plant machinery.
• Monitor the performance of crushers, conveyors, screens, feeders, mills, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, blowers, and other rotating equipment.
• Carry out root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Supervise mechanical technicians and contractors during maintenance activities.
• Prepare maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment history records.
• Ensure timely availability of mechanical spares, coordinate with the stores, and purchase departments.
• Monitor lubrication systems and ensure adherence to lubrication schedules.
• Support shutdown planning, equipment overhauling, erection, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain maintenance KPIs such as equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Experience in crushers, conveyor systems, vibrating screens, feeders, bucket elevators, pumps, compressors, and gearboxes.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
• Familiarity with alignment, balancing, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring.
• Exposure to CMMS/SAP maintenance systems is preferred.
• Good knowledge of welding, fabrication, and equipment erection practices.
• Experience in shutdown planning and maintenance execution.
