Job summary

Unisys Bengaluru is seeking an experienced network engineer to monitor, troubleshoot and administer complex LAN/WAN environments. You will manage configurations, backups, security settings and device health across Cisco, Aruba, and Meraki ecosystems, including WLCs and SD-WAN.

The role requires ITIL familiarity and strong automation mindset. You will support remote and on-site teams, contribute to knowledge bases, and ensure adherence to SLAs while coordinating with vendors for issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in networking technologies.
• ITIL foundation knowledge and certification.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Catalyst switches, Nexus switches, WLCs & Meraki devices.
• Experience with HP/Aruba switches/routers/WLCs.
• Knowledge of Cisco ISE, DNAC, ACI.
• Experience with SD-WAN solutions (Silver Peak, Velocloud).
• Understanding of virtualization concepts.
• Cloud knowledge: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud.
• Automation of repetitive tasks and monitoring.
• Practical troubleshooting in network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Network Infrastructure within Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management guidelines.
• Perform configuration management of LANs, WANs, WLANs, network devices, and security systems for operability.
• Conduct network maintenance and upgrades including patches and security configurations.
• Explore automation opportunities and share best practices across teams.
• Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including wireless APs, routers, switches, and WLAN controllers.
• Remotely support customers and onsite technicians for WAN/LAN test and turn-ups.
• Collaborate with engineering to develop device-specific knowledge base.
• Maintain and predesign documents for all network infrastructure.
• Maintain on-call availability and flexibly handle scheduling and outages.
• Plan and implement network changes per ITIL change management process.
• Meet/exceed customer SLA/OLA metrics.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for issue remediation.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot Network Infrastructure within the guidelines of Incident Management (Return-to-Service), Problem Management (Reason for Outage) and Change management.


• Configuration management of Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wireless LANs, network segments, security devices and Internet and Intranet systems to ensure operability.


• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including patches, hot fixes, and security configuration.


• Continuously explore the opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and share the best practices across all the teams.


• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, routers, switches, WLAN controllers.


• Remotely support customers and/or onsite technicians test and turn-ups of WAN and LAN equipment.


• Work with engineering department to develop customer and device specific knowledge base.


• Maintaining and predesign documents for all network infrastructure.


• Maintains on-call availability to respond to network issues and up-time; must be flexible and available with the scheduling.


• Plan and implement network changes as per the ITIL change management process.


• Meet and exceed customer SLA or OLA metrics.


• Work with third party vendors to remediate and resolve customer issues.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in networking technologies.


• ITIL foundation knowledge and certification.


• Hand on experience in working with the following:

• Professional level certification in one or more fields. (Cisco- CCNA, CCNP, SISE; Aruba - ACSA, ACSP, ACMX, ACSDP)


• Proficient with standard troubleshooting practices and methodologies.


• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.


• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.


• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.


• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
