Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer (L2/L3) with strong expertise in Routing, Switching, SD-WAN, and Enterprise Network Operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure while providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for critical network incidents, changes, and projects.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or Fortinet networking technologies and a strong understanding of WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, and network security concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Routing & Switching
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise LAN/WAN environments.
- Manage routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and static routing.
- Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 technologies including VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, VTP, and trunking.
- Perform network capacity planning, optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Support network migrations, upgrades, and implementation projects.
SD-WAN
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot SD-WAN solutions (Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Versa, Silver Peak, Fortinet, etc.).
- Monitor SD-WAN policies, application routing, and link performance.
- Handle branch deployments, controller management, and policy configurations.
- Troubleshoot overlay and underlay connectivity issues.
L2/L3 Support
- Provide advanced support for network incidents and service requests.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for critical outages and recurring issues.
- Participate in major incident management and problem management activities.
- Collaborate with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams for issue resolution.
- Ensure adherence to SLA and operational standards.
Network Security & Operations
- Troubleshoot ACLs, NAT, VPN, and firewall-related connectivity issues.
- Monitor network health using NMS tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, LogicMonitor, or Nagios.
- Perform configuration backups, documentation, and change management activities.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practice.
Required Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching concepts.
- Hands-on experience with:
- OSPF, BGP, EIGRP
- VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- MPLS, VPN, WAN technologies
- SD-WAN deployment and troubleshooting
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR routers or equivalent platforms.
- Knowledge of firewall technologies and network security concepts.
- Experience with packet capture and analysis tools such as Wireshark.
Desired Skills
- Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, or scripting tools.
- Experience working in ITIL-based environments.
- Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure/AWS/GCP) is an advantage.
