Job summary

Rempact is seeking a Head of Supply Chain Management in Bangalore to lead end-to-end SCM, including procurement, planning, inventory, and logistics. You will drive strategy, supplier development, and cost optimization while ensuring material availability to meet commitments.

The role requires 8–10+ years in SCM, strong ERP experience (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics), and leadership across functions. A MBA and deep experience with international trade are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with SCM focus.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership.
• Strong knowledge of global sourcing, import procurement, and ERP systems.
• Proven track record in cost optimization and supplier development.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for domestic and international suppliers.
• Oversee import purchases, global sourcing, customs compliance, and freight management.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve service, cost, and inventory.
• Ensure material availability through demand planning and supplier engagement.
• Negotiate terms and contracts to achieve cost savings and value creation.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality and delivery.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks with contingency planning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D, and Sales to align SCM with business goals.
• Establish KPIs for procurement, inventory, supplier performance, and working capital.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Head - SCM is responsible for leading the end-to-end Supply Chain function, including Domestic Procurement, Import Sourcing, Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics, and Supplier Development. The role focuses on ensuring material availability, optimizing costs, managing supply risks, and driving operational efficiency to support business growth and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities for both domestic and international suppliers.
• Manage import purchases, global sourcing, customs compliance, freight management, and coordination with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Develop and implement supply chain strategies to improve service levels, cost efficiency, and inventory performance.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials through effective demand planning, inventory control, and supplier engagement.
• Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and pricing with domestic and overseas suppliers to achieve cost savings and value creation.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through supplier contingency planning and business continuity measures.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D, and Sales teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement, inventory, supplier performance, and working capital.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 8-10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management.
• Significant experience in both domestic procurement and import purchasing, global sourcing, international trade, customs regulations, and freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP / Oracle / MS Dynamics).
