The incumbent will build a resilient vendor base, modernize supply chain systems and processes, and support the companys growth plans, including newer product lines.

  • Develop and execute the sourcing strategy for critical components such as hoist motors, gearboxes, brakes, safety locks and devices, wire ropes, drives, electricals and controls, structural fabrication and bought-out items.
  • Identify, evaluate and onboard vendors; build alternate sources to reduce single-vendor dependency.
  • Negotiate rates, payment terms and annual rate contracts; drive cost reduction without compromising quality or safety.
  • Increase localisation and indigenous sourcing in line with the Make in India commitment.
  • Ensure procurement compliance, approvals and documentation as per company policy.
Measure of success:

Cost savings achieved, vendor on-time delivery, and share of critical items with approved alternate sources.

Vendor Management and Quality:

  • Work with Quality and Engineering on incoming inspection, supplier audits and corrective actions.
  • Reduce incoming material rejections and drive vendor development programmes.
  • Maintain vendor compliance on statutory requirements, including GST.
Measure of success:

Vendor rating scores, incoming rejection rate and supplier corrective actions closed on time.

Demand and Supply Planning:
  • Translate sales orders and production schedules into material requirement plans.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Production and Engineering to align order commitments with material availability.
  • Manage lead times for long-lead and critical components.
  • Forecast spares demand and plan stocking for after-sales needs.
Measure of success:

Material availability against the production plan and adherence to committed delivery dates.

Inventory and Stores Management:
  • Set and review norms for raw material, work-in-progress, finished goods and spares inventory.
  • Control slow-moving and obsolete stock and improve inventory turns.
  • Ensure stores discipline: GRN, binning, issue controls, periodic cycle counts and physical stock audits.
  • Maintain accuracy of stock records in the ERP system.
Measure of success:

Inventory turnover, stock accuracy and reduction in slow-moving stock.

Logistics, Dispatch and Site Delivery:
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, transporter selection, freight negotiation and route planning.
  • Ensure timely, safe and damaged-free dispatch of machines and materials to project sites across India, including oversized and heavy consignments.
  • Maintain documentation for dispatch: e-way bills, delivery challans, insurance and proof of delivery.
  • Coordinate with Projects and Service teams for installation material and site requirements.
Measure of success:

On-time dispatch, logistics cost as a percentage of sales and transit damage or loss incidents.

Spare Parts and After-Sales Supply:
  • Ensure availability of fast-moving and critical spares to support service commitments and minimise customer downtime.
  • Set spares pricing, lead times and dispatch turnaround in coordination with the Service and Sales teams.
  • Track spares fill rate and backorders; resolve shortages quickly.
Measure of success:

Spare fill rate and spares dispatch turnaround time.

Systems, MIS and Process Improvement:
  • Drive ERP-based procurement, inventory and logistics processes with accurate, real-time data.
  • Prepare and present supply chain MIS covering purchase spend, vendor performance, inventory, logistics cost and delivery adherence.
  • Introduce lean, Kaizen and cost-optimisation initiatives across the value chain.
  • Support capacity expansion and sourcing for new product lines such as tower cranes and mobile elevated work platforms.
Measure of success:

MIS accuracy and timeliness, process improvements implemented and savings delivered

Compliance, Risk and Team Leadership:
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, GST, customs and safety requirements, and with ISO 9001:2015 procedures for purchasing and stores.
  • Identify supply risks (price volatility, vendor failure, import dependency) and put mitigation plans in place.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the supply chain team; set KRAs and review performance regularly.
  • Coordinate with Finance on vendor payments, budgets and working capital.
Measure of success:
