Job summary

Smile Management Solutions invites applications for Head Procurement Engineering based in Telangana (Warangal). The role leads centralized procurement strategy, supplier development, and capital equipment projects to optimize costs and governance across plants.

Responsibilities include managing engineering stores, implementing ERP/MIS, and driving standardization. Requires 8 years in procurement/engineering in manufacturing, with BOM/ERP expertise and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in procurement/engineering in FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Home & Personal Care manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in CAPEX procurement, engineering spares, packaging, and vendor development.
• Deep knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a procurement engineering strategy covering spares, consumables, and capital equipment.
• Negotiate long-term contracts with suppliers.
• Establish standard procurement systems, SOPs, and governance practices for respective plant.
• Oversee functioning of unit-level engineering stores, monitor inventory and stock accuracy.
• Drive implementation of common ERP/MIS for real-time material tracking and reporting.
• Review MIS to ensure zero stockouts and line continuity.
• Identify and develop strategic suppliers for engineering spares, machinery, packaging and utilities.
• Implement cost-reduction initiatives, alternate sourcing, vendor consolidation, and value engineering.
• Negotiate central rate contracts and frame agreements for key categories.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and build strong vendor partnerships.
• Support unit expansions, technology upgrades, and new installations with vendor identification and contracting.
• Drive standardization of machinery, spares, and utilities across plants.
• Ensure procurement practices adhere to statutory, quality, safety and sustainability standards (FSSAI, GMP, BIS, ISO).
• Conduct regular audits of engineering stores and suppliers.
• Implement governance framework for vendor approval, performance evaluation and risk management.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of unit-level engineering stores in-charges.
• Build capability in inventory management, cost control and supplier management.
• Drive accountability, transparency and process discipline across all procurement functions.

Head Procurement Engineering

Location

1. Centralized Procurement Strategy:

• Develop and execute a procurement engineering strategy covering spares, consumables, and capital equipment.

2. Engineering Stores & Plant Support:

• Review daily/weekly MIS from stores in-charges to ensure zero stockouts and line continuity.

3. Supplier Development & Cost Optimization:

• Identify and develop strategic suppliers for engineering spares, machinery, packaging and utilities.

Academic and Professional Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial / Chemical preferred). MBA in Supply Chain desirable.
• 8 years of experience in procurement/engineering in FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Home & Personal Care manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in CAPEX procurement, engineering spares, packaging, and consumablesand vendor development.
• Deep knowledge of ERP systems, inventory management, and compliance frameworks.
