Job summary

Spaco Technologies is seeking a seasoned Purchase Head in Maharashtra to steer the procurement function. You will set strategic goals, craft purchasing policies and manage supplier relationships to sustain growth and competitive costs.

You will oversee end-to-end procurement, drive cost reductions, and mentor the team to build strong capabilities for future projects. A background in manufacturing procurement and SAP experience are preferred for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or B.E./B.Tech. required.
• Demonstrated experience leading a procurement team.
• Strong knowledge of supplier negotiations and contract management.

Purchase Head

Roles and responsibilities

• Organizational Objectives are achieved through setting the goals, planning and execution of the same in the department
• Craft and Create purchasing strategies, policies and procedures that are in line with the organizational current and future business growth requirements
• Constantly evaluate and foresee the challenges arising to the business and take timely actions to mitigate risks
• Lookout for the price forecasting and market trends to identify the best costs to the business
• Benchmark the industry practices of purchasing and procurement and create innovative procurement processes
• Take up the challenging targets year on year in the procurement budgets
• Foster, develop reliable and sustainable vendor base and maintain relationships with their senior management for better negotiation contracts
• Nurture and reduce the gaps in skills and talents in the department resources so as to improve the competencies and make future talents ready in pipeline
• Develop and manage the contracts that ensure smooth services by the vendors, scope of the cost reductions and complying to the legal requirements of the law of the land
• Ensure the company quality policy and standards are percolated throughout the supply chain while collaborating with the Quality department
• Give inputs of new technology directions for new and alternate raw materials in new projects/product developments and strategic company growth plans
• Knowledge of SAP
• Documentation of IATF 16949 & ISO 14001

Preferred Candidate

• Mechanical / Manufacturing or relevant Field with at least 20 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement role of which at least 3-5 years in a Departmental Head position role
• Will be responsible for overseeing the complete end-to-end procurement process while leading a competent team
• Shall ensure hi-quality material procurement at best value
• Optimizing the supply chain operations to ensure smooth operations while minimizing lead times and production costs
