Job summary

Petra Silicon in Hyderabad seeks an experienced Head of Procurement & SCM to drive end-to-end procurement and supply chain operations across engineering, metals, and minerals.

You will lead supplier negotiations, contract management, logistics, and inventory control, aligning with engineering and production to reduce costs and ensure timely delivery.

A minimum of 15+ years in a similar domain is required, with deep focus on OPEX and CAPEX, vendor development, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain within engineering, metals or minerals.
• End-to-end supply chain management with focus on cost-efficiency.
• Experience with both OPEX and CAPEX purchases, logistics, and vendor development.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing & Procurement: Manage OPEX and CAPEX purchases for cost-efficient procurement.
• Contract Management: Draft agreements ensuring compliance and coverage.
• Vendor Development & Management: Evaluate, develop and manage vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Logistics Management: Oversee transportation, warehousing and export/import processes.
• Supply Chain Optimization: Improve processes to reduce costs and ensure timely delivery.
• Inventory Control: Monitor material and finished goods, optimize working capital.
• Vendor Audits & Compliance: Ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Collaboration: Align supply chain with engineering, production and finance.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced profile to drive Procurement and Supply Chain operations from industries such as engineering, metals, and minerals.

Qualification :

B.E/B.Tech / M.Tech - Mechanical / Mineral processing , withn min 15+ years of experience in similar domain/industry as specified above

The role requires an individual who is well-versed in managing end-to-end supply chain while enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Gained experience with focus on both OPEX and CAPEX purchases, logistics, and vendor development, frieght forwarders, Imports and exports documentation and its processes

Key Responsibilities:

• 1: Purchasing & Procurement: Manage and oversee both OPEX and CAPEX purchases, ensuring cost-efficient procurement of goods and services.
• 2: Contract Management: Excellent drafting of agreements ensuring full proof coverage for related compliances, taxes and statutes
• 3: Vendor Development & Management: evaluate existing, identify and develop new vendors. Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure high-quality supply and timely delivery.
• 4: Logistics Management: Oversee all aspects of logistics, transportation, warehousing, including handling all aspects such as material movement by Road/Rail/Sea/Air Containers Exports/Imports and bulk vessels Imports/Exports.
• 5: Supply Chain Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and ensure the timely delivery of materials and products.
• 6: Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw material finished goods stores,etc to prevent overstocking or shortages. Implement inventory strategies to optimize working capital while maintaining the supply chain's agility.
• 7: Vendor Audits & Compliance: Conduct regular audits and assessments of vendors to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
• 8: Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and finance, to align supply chain activities with business goals.
• 9: Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for improvement. Present findings and strategies to senior management.
• 10: Safety : Men and Material safety

Skills:

• 1: Proven experience in supplier negotiations and contract management/administration.
• 2: Well versed with MS Office, supply chain softwares and ERP systems,
• 3: Strong leadership abilities, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills and very good in communication skills
• 4: Strong understanding of industry-specific supply chain challenges, particularly in engineering, mining, metals, and minerals.
