Job summary

Roots Group of Companies in Coimbatore seeks a Mechanical Engineer to drive assembly line optimisation and productivity gains. You will lead a large operator team, implement Gen assembly concepts, Poke Yoke for CTQ, and push continuous improvement initiatives across processes to reduce costs and cycle times.

Safety culture and hands-on problem solving are essential as you steward end-of-line testing and regular process walks to sustain performance and quality improvements.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical Engineering with a consistent track record in improving assembly processes and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

• Lead process optimisation and productivity improvement initiatives.
• Achieve consistently on-time manufacturing targets (OTM).
• Spearhead continuous improvement projects across assembly lines.
• Drive cost reduction and process time reduction initiatives.
• Implement new Gen assembly concepts and Poke Yoke for CTQ parameters.
• Establish and maintain AMR and Kit concepts.
• Conduct regular process walks and safety culture promotion.
• Oversee end-of-line testing for all product groups.
• Manage a team of 100+ operators and foster problem-solving projects.
