Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a senior procurement leader to manage end-to-end procurement for a plant/business unit in India. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, contract management, vendor development, and cost optimization to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

The ideal candidate will have 12–18 years in procurement within cement, manufacturing, metals, mining, power, infrastructure, or related sectors, with BE/BTech and MBA/PGDM preferred.

Qualifications

• Educational qualifications as stated: BE/BTech in relevant engineering disciplines.
• MBA/PGDM in SCM/Operations/Procurement preferred.
• 12–18 years in procurement, sourcing, contracts and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement function for the plant/business unit, including strategic sourcing, purchasing, contract management, and vendor development.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve cost optimization and operational efficiency.
• Drive sourcing and procurement of CAPEX, OPEX, MRO, engineering spares, consumables, and project requirements.
• Manage RFQs, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, contract finalization, and order placement.
• Establish strong vendor relationships and develop alternate sourcing channels to mitigate supply risks.
• Monitor market trends, commodity prices, and supplier performance for informed procurement decisions.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and services to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Lead annual rate contracts and long-term agreements with key suppliers.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and procurement excellence projects.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls, audits, and statutory requirements.
• Collaborate closely with plant operations, maintenance, projects, finance, stores, and corporate procurement teams.
• Track procurement KPIs, spend analysis, savings realization, and vendor performance metrics.
• Manage and mentor the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Chemical) preferred.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Procurement preferred.
• Experience - 12-18 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, contracts, and supply chain functions.
• Preferably from Cement, Manufacturing, Metals, Mining, Power, Infrastructure, or Process Industries.
• Strong exposure to CAPEX, OPEX, MRO procurement and contract management.
• Experience in leading procurement teams and stakeholder management.
