Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a Procurement professional to manage end-to-end O&M material and services procurement for smooth plant operations in Tandur, Telangana. The role emphasizes vendor development, techno-commercial evaluations, and cost optimization across cement, mining, steel, power, and heavy industries.

You will coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and maintenance teams, ensure timely POs, and drive continuous savings while adhering to company policies.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical or MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred.
• Assistant Manager: 5–8 years in procurement of O&M materials and services.
• Deputy Manager: 8–12 years in procurement within Cement, Mining, Steel, Power, Manufacturing, or Heavy Industries.

Responsibilities

• Procure end-to-end O&M materials and services.
• Source and develop maintenance vendors.
• Float RFQs, evaluate techno-commercially, finalize suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery, terms, and contracts.
• Place POs timely and track deliveries.
• Vendor management and development.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance and stores to optimize inventory.
• Identify cost reduction through strategic sourcing.
• Monitor usage and prevent stock-outs.
• Cross-functional coordination with plant teams.
• Ensure alignment with shutdown plans.
• Support emergency procurement.
• Maintain procurement records and MIS reports.

Purpose/Objective

Responsible for procurement of O&M-related materials and services required for smooth plant operations, ensuring timely availability of spares, consumables, maintenance services, and equipment at optimum cost while adhering to company procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Procurement & Sourcing - Manage end-to-end procurement of O&M materials, consumables, mechanical and electrical spares.
• Source and develop vendors for maintenance-related requirements.
• Float RFQs, obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and finalize suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
• Ensure timely placement of Purchase Orders (POs) and follow-up for delivery.
• Vendor Management - Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for plant requirements.
• Conduct vendor evaluation, performance monitoring, and supplier development initiatives.
• Resolve supply, quality, and service-related issues with vendors.
• Inventory & Cost Optimization - Coordinate with maintenance and stores teams to optimize inventory levels.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through strategic sourcing and value engineering.
• Monitor consumption patterns and prevent stock-outs of critical spares.
• Cross-Functional Coordination - Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Utility, Mining, and Plant Operations teams.
• Ensure procurement activities align with shutdown planning and maintenance schedules.
• Support emergency and breakdown procurement requirements.
• Compliance & Reporting - Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor documentation.
• Prepare MIS reports related to savings, vendor performance, procurement cycle time, and pending PO status.
