Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking an experienced O&M Procurement professional to manage end-to-end procurement of maintenance materials, spares and services for cement plant operations, ensuring timely availability at optimum cost while complying with procurement policies. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, issuing POs, vendor registration, cost optimization, and preparing MIS reports.

A BE/BTech in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation or MBA in supply chain is preferred, with 5–8

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in O&M, engineering or maintenance procurement.
• Experience in cement, power, steel, mining or heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Engineering degree or MBA with supply chain focus.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end procurement of O&M materials, spares, consumables, lubricants and maintenance items.
• Float RFQs/RFPs, obtain quotations and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Generate Purchase Orders and ensure timely order processing.
• Develop and maintain a strong vendor base for plant maintenance requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure procurement within budgets and adherence to policies; support ARC processes.
• Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis and vendor performance dashboards.

Purpose/Objective

To manage procurement activities related to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) requirements of the cement plant, ensuring timely availability of materials, spares, consumables, services, and equipment at optimum cost while maintaining quality standards and compliance with procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Key Responsibilities Procurement Operations - Handle end-to-end procurement of O&M materials, engineering spares, consumables, lubricants, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and plant maintenance items.
• Float RFQs/RFPs, obtain quotations, and conduct techno-commercial evaluations.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
• Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely order processing.
• Vendor Management - Develop and maintain a strong vendor base for plant maintenance requirements.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and performance monitoring.
• Identify alternate vendors to reduce dependency and ensure supply continuity.
• Support vendor registration and qualification processes.
• Cost Optimization - Drive cost-saving initiatives through negotiations, rate contracts, value engineering, and alternate sourcing.
• Monitor market trends and commodity price movements.
• Ensure procurement within approved budgets and procurement guidelines.
• Stakeholder Coordination - Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Stores teams for requirement planning.
• Ensure timely procurement against maintenance shutdowns and breakdown requirements.
• Resolve supplier-related issues impacting plant operations.
• Contract & Compliance Management - Support preparation and execution of Annual Rate Contracts (ARC).
• Ensure procurement compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Maintain procurement documentation and records for audit purposes.
• MIS & Analytics - Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, savings reports, and vendor performance reports.
• Monitor procurement KPIs such as PR-to-PO cycle time, supplier on-time delivery, and cost savings.

Qualifications and Experience

  Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation) OR - MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain/Operations (Preferred)
• Experience - 5 to 8 years of experience in O&M Procurement, Engineering Procurement, Plant Procurement, or Maintenance Procurement.
• Experience in Cement, Power, Steel, Mining, Metals, Heavy Manufacturing, or Process Industries preferred.
