Job summary

Sankalp contracts private limited is seeking a Purchase Engineer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in sourcing, vendor management and procurement of construction materials for real estate projects in Pune. You will manage the end-to-end procurement cycle, coordinating with site, stores, planning and finance to ensure timely and cost-efficient material availability.

Responsibilities include RFQ management, supplier evaluation, price negotiations, purchase orders, and maintaining procurement

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of procurement experience in real estate or construction.
• Proficiency with ERP/SAP and MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Solid understanding of construction materials, market rates and supply timelines.
• Strong numerical, organizational and follow-up abilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and issue RFQs and manage the vendor bidding process.
• Negotiate price, quality, payment and delivery terms with vendors.
• Raise and process purchase orders and track delivery against project timelines.
• Read material specifications and BOQs to raise accurate requisitions.
• Coordinate with site/stores on material requirements and delivery planning.
• Maintain vendor records, rate contracts and procurement MIS reports.
• Track material costs and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Resolve supply, quality or delivery issues with vendors promptly.
• Use ERP/SAP and MS Excel for tracking and reporting.

About the Role

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer with 4-6 years of hands-on experience in sourcing, vendor management and procurement of construction materials and services for real estate projects. The role involves managing the end-to-end procurement cycle and coordinating closely with site, stores, planning and finance teams to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable material suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotation) and manage the vendor bidding process
• Compare and negotiate vendor quotes on price, quality, payment and delivery terms
• Raise and process purchase orders and track delivery schedules against project timelines
• Read material specifications and BOQs to raise accurate purchase requisitions
• Coordinate with site/stores teams on material requirements, stock levels and delivery planning
• Negotiate and manage rate contracts (RCs) with key vendors
• Maintain vendor records, rate contracts, purchase registers and procurement MIS reports
• Track material costs and support cost-saving initiatives in procurement
• Resolve supply, quality or delivery issues with vendors in a timely manner
• Use ERP/SAP or procurement software along with MS Excel for tracking and reporting
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project budgets

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in procurement/purchase with a real estate developer or construction contracting company
• Working knowledge of ERP/SAP or procurement software; strong proficiency in MS Excel
• Good understanding of construction materials, market rates and supply timelines
• Strong numerical, organizational and follow-up skills
• Good communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with vendors, site, stores and finance teams
